About Missional Community

A guide for followers of Jesus living on mission together

Why This Matters

We’re a group of Christians from different churches who gather regularly, grow in Scripture, encourage each other, and share life around shared life interests. That’s more than a Bible study. It’s a picture of the church in action.

Jesus didn’t define ‘church’ as a building or a program. He described it as people living out their faith together-devoted to Him, to one another, and to the mission He gave us (Acts 2:42-47, Matthew 28:18-20).

What We’re NOT Saying

– We’re not asking anyone to leave their home church.

– We’re not forming a new denomination or competing with your Sunday worship.

– We’re not replacing pastors, sermons, or sacraments.

What We ARE Saying

We’re learning to be the church-faithful disciples-right here in the places we find ourselves already together by:

1. Loving one another like family

– Caring, praying, serving, forgiving, sharing (John 13:34-35, Romans 12:10).

2. Centering our lives around Scripture and obedience

– Not just learning the Word but living it (James 1:22).

3. Multiplying disciples and inviting others in

– Living missionally with our friends and the broader community we’re in (2 Timothy 2:2, Matthew9:37-38).

4. Gathering with purpose

– Whether in the gym, or outdoors, or over coffee-when we gather in Jesus’ name, He’s with us (Matthew 18:20).

5. Respecting and partnering with the local church

– We bless our churches, pray for them, and share what we’re learning.

What Could This Look Like?

– Celebrating the Lord’s Supper together occasionally as a community.

– Supporting each other’s ministries, spiritual growth, and callings.

– Practicing spiritual disciplines together-prayer, fasting, Scripture memory.

– Asking: ‘How can we better reflect Jesus right where we already are?’

We’re not redefining the church-we’re rediscovering what it means to be the church wherever we are.

Let’s keep worshiping in our churches-and also live as a faithful, visible expression of Jesus’ people in our community.
